Bill & Clyde

NASHVILLE, NC —  Bill Lyerly’s trips home each year have often included a reunion with Clyde Mattocks. Last Thursday, Super Grit Cowboy Band co-founders Bill and Clyde played the Nash Arts Center here in the converted old First Baptist Church.  We don’t usually see Mattocks playing guitar other than across his lap, but  occasionally  he’ll pick up that old Merle Haggard-autographed Telecaster and play it straight up.
