eyeWITNess to the end

CHOCOWINITY, NC — Back in the old days, the Washington Daily News and WITN-TV had an odd cooperative competition relationship. The staffers at both knew and shared experience with each other. We were all small market folks with low income and bad hours. We saw each other where we worked in the community and often gathered socially. One of our running jokes was about WITN never mentioning that their home base was in Chocowinity, NOT Washington or Greenville as they were fond of broadcasting. The old Choco studios and offices fell yesterday, and Greenville is now the real home of WITN. I miss you guys! Click any photo to enlarge it.
