Grain bin collapse

WASHINGTON, NC —In 1987, a large grain silo at what is now Riverside Grain off Hudnell Street split and collapsed. It spilled corn over nearly a city block. The yellow sea was quite a sight. I can only imagine that it must have looked like some organic lava flow as it left the silo and flowed away from it prison. (Click on photos to make them as large as your browser windows will allow.)
