Raymond Wescott - waterman

WANCHESE, NC — I was poking around the harbor in Wanchese back in 2009. I ran into Brother Raymond Wescott, a member of Manteo Masonic Lodge 521. He was repairing the radio on his little trawler, the place he spent his off time from his job on a tug boat. It was a bit of a second job for him also. How else would you expect a waterman to spend his time? Raymond passed away in 2011. He was a 50-year Freemason.
